Smartparts, Inc., a leading manufacturer and innovator driving the explosive digital picture frame market, has significantly expanded its highly-successful OptiPix family of digital picture frames with the launch of 11 new models at CES 2008. All the new models will be on display at CES 2008 at the Smartparts booth in the South Hall, #31329.

OptiPix frames - Technology
“When it comes to technology, consumers are always in search of solutions that make their lives easier,” said Stefan Guelpen, president and co founder of Smartparts. “For the first time buyer, Smartparts’ OptiPix frames are the ideal choice. The OptiPix frames offer consumers a unique combination of cutting-edge technology, quality and unparalleled ease-of-use.”

Photo frame - Software
The new OptiPix frames will be preloaded with Smartparts’ new and exclusive graphical user interface (GUI) which simplifies using the frame, and will include Smartparts’ OptiPix software, designed to help consumers effortlessly locate, resize and transfer pictures to their frame from their computer, all in just three easy to-follow steps. An important feature of the OptiPix software is that it will not alter consumers’ original photos. OptiPix first creates copies which are then resized and transferred to the frame or memory card, leaving the original, untouched photo residing on the computer. For consumers who wish to transfer digital images directly from their memory card, OptiPix frames will give them the option of auto-rotating images taken vertically as well as resizing their pictures before copying the files to internal memory.

OptiPix photo frames - Files
Included with all OptiPix digital picture frames eight inches or larger is Smartparts OptiPix Pro software, which gives users the added ability to convert and transfer PowerPoint slides, PDF files, and most picture and graphic files directly to the frame, a useful feature especially for business or retail applications.

Digital photo frames - Memory cards
Additionally, both the OptiPix and OptiPix Pro software feature a content based scaling option which consumers can use to properly resize their 4:3 images for display on a 16:9 frame. By using specially programmed algorithms, OptiPix will crop a consumer’s 4:3 image to 16:9, making sure that key subject matter within a picture is not lost or stretched. All new Smartparts OptiPix frames accept most popular memory cards, including Secure Digital (SD), Memory Stick (MS), and xD Picture Card, and also feature expandable memory. An expansion SD memory card slot gives consumers the ability to essentially add internal memory to a frame or expand a frame’s existing memory by purchasing a secondary SD card. Fully compatible with SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) memory cards, consumers have the ability to add a substantial amount of memory to their OptiPix digital frames, allowing them to store and display thousands of images.
