CES report

The SanDisk Sansa Fuze is a media player with a 1.9 inch screen, a microSD memory slot and, according to the specifications, the Sansa Fuze offers the longest battery-life ever of the entire Sansa series. According to SanDisk, the Sansa Fuze plays 24 hours non-stop music without having to recharge the battery. The microSD flash memory card slot enables enhancing the memory to a maximum of 16GB. The SanDisk Sansa music player series was launched into the market in one sudden blow, and the Sansa Fuze is already the next gem in this great line of music players. The SanDisk Sansa Fuze supposedly features an improved interface compared to its predecessor, the Sansa View, as well as an improved operating system to get this MP3 player ready to battle the third Apple iPod Nano generation.

SanDisk Sansa Fuze - Music player design
As for the design, the SanDisk Sansa Fuze is not that special; it is in fact rather standard. The design strongly reminds me of the Apple iPod, in particular its scroll wheel and the way the buttons are situated. The MP3 player features a glossy front containing a 1.9 inch screen. The dimensions of the SanDisk Fuze are 7.9 x 4.8 x 7.6 cm and the player weighs 56 grams. The SanDisk Sansa Fuze is available in several bright colors such as pink, red and blue. In addition, the player also comes in two more sophisticated colors, black and silver. Besides the Fuze media player of course, the package contains a USB cable, a headset, the quick user guide, and a CD with the user manual in PDF format.

SanDisk Sansa Fuze video features
The 1.9 inch screen of the SanDisk Sansa Fuze plays videos very clearly. Even though the screen is on the small side, watching a video is still very pleasant on the Sansa Fuze. The SanDisk Sansa Fuze supports the MPEG5 format, although it remains unclear in what compression. If you want to convert a movie to the Sansa format, I'd advise you to use the Sansa Media Converter in order to ensure you are able to play the movie on the Fuze. On top of that, you will obtain the best video quality.

SanDisk reviews : Sansa Fuze player in practice
In general, the SanDisk Sansa Fuze is a nice and pleasant media player. Although the possibilities and quality will not surprise you astound you, the Sansa Fuze offers a good package. The SanDisk Fuze has all you may expect from a standard MP3 player. You can't get around the fact that the Fuze looks a lot like the Apple iPod when it comes to appearance and operation. The Consumer Electronics Show, better known as CES, has been held annually for over 40 years now. The first CES took place in New York City in 1967 featuring 200 exhibitors and 17,500 visitors. Since that time, the total show has increased by a factor 10. This year's CES show will again take place in Las Vegas, as usual, where visitors are welcomed from January 7 to January 10. The CES event appears to become more important every year. It is the first major world event where more than 2,200 CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) members are able to display their involvement in relation to development, manufacturing, distribution and integration of consumer electronic products such as audio, photo, video, mobile communication, and accessories. The CES 2010 starts off a brand-new year, offering a peek of what we can expect in the upcoming season regarding new products and services.
