Samsung extends its popular SL-Series of digital cameras with the introduction of the Samsung SL600. The stylish, easy-to-use Samsung SL600 compact digital camera offers consumers an impressive range of advanced features all at an affordable price. With the 12.2 megapixel Samsung SL600, casual photographers will be able to enjoy the benefits of more powerful lenses, allowing them to enhance their creativity. The new SL-Series digital camera features a high-quality 27mm wide-angle Samsung lens with 5x optical zoom, delivering significant flexibility when compared to a traditional 3x optical zoom, 35mm lens. The Samsung SL600 will be on display during the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show, January 7-10, 2010.

Samsung SL600 features 2.5" LCD screen
The Samsung SL600 features Samsung’s advanced Digital Image Stabilization technology, which helps reduce blur and makes it easy for novice photographers to capture impressive images. In addition, the Samsung SL600 camera offers a large LCD screen on the back of the camera to help frame one’s shot and review images. The Samsung SL600 offers users a 2.7-inch 230K LCD. The new Samsung camera is even equipped with standard definition video recording (640x480) at 30 frames per second, enabling consumers to capture important moments.

The new Samsung SL600 camera offers a full suite of automatic controls, including Samsung’s advanced scene recognition technology known as Smart Auto. Designed to simplify the way consumers take a photograph, Smart Auto ensures that users never have to worry about their photos being washed out, too dark or out of focus. Smart Auto analyzes key elements of the composition of the image such as color, brightness, motion, and subject and then selects the appropriate scene mode which will produce the best results possible.

In addition to Smart Auto, the SL600 also features Samsung’s Perfect Portrait System - a series of automatic technologies which take the guess work out of shooting beautiful portraits. Key features of the Perfect Portrait System include face detection and Samsung’s Smile Shot and Blink Detection technologies which automatically detect when your subjects are smiling and if their eyes are closed, allowing you to capture them looking their best. Another advanced feature is the Red-eye Fix mode. This in camera feature automatically fixes the typical red-eye associated with the use of the flash, before the photo is produced, a significant time saver as you don’t have to spend time afterwards removing red-eyes from your pictures. The Perfect Portrait System on the Samsung SL600 also includes Beauty Shot, a unique technology which allows consumers to remove all the imperfections on a subject’s face such as wrinkles, blemishes, and moles. Simply select one of three editing options to even out skin tone and complexion. The Samsung SL600 will be available from February 2010.
