Video calling and image sharing just got easier as well as clearer with Sakar International’s new line of Kodak Webcams, including a top-of-the-line model that features a true 3 megapixel sensor for HD video. All Kodak webcams in the series feature one-stop connectivity to the most popular VoIP, IM and social media services, eliminating extra steps typically required to launch video calls and chats or upload images to social networks. Available at retailers next month, each of the new Kodak webcams is compatible with both PC (Windows XP/Vista/7) and Mac (OSX 10.5 and above) for easy consumer selection. The Kodak webcams are the latest products available under a license between Kodak and Sakar.

The new line also includes the Kodak S100 Webcam, the first driver-free webcam under $30, plus a twin-pack Kodak W100 Webcam containing two S100 camera models. Setting up a video call or video IM session with the new Kodak Webcams is faster and easier than ever. The included Software Control Center for Kodak Webcams enables users to connect to Skype as well as AOL, WINDOWS and YAHOO! instant messaging services with a click instead of finding and launching the desired service separately.

The new webcams also make it easy to send videos and photos to Kodak Gallery, Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, YouTube and/or Photobucket. Each new image can either be automatically sent to your preferred service, or dragged and dropped to any supported site (or the appropriate album on your PC) from the temporary storage location on the built-in video/photo manager. No more sorting through your computer’s “My Pictures” folder or opening, signing in and navigating through your chosen social media.

All SKUs come standard with built-in noise canceling microphone, motion detection, pan/tilt, video effects, 3x or 5x digital zoom, and a universal mounting system for desktop or laptop use. They also include an exclusive photo resolution optimizer that automatically returns settings to the maximum resolution after an IM or VoIP session, eliminating the hassle of manually adjusting the sharpness to compensate for your service’s bandwidth-saving resolution downgrades.

The Consumer Electronics Show, better known as CES, has been held annually for over 40 years now. The first CES took place in New York City in 1967 featuring 200 exhibitors and 17,500 visitors. Since that time, the total show has increased by a factor 10. This year's CES show will again take place in Las Vegas, as usual, where visitors are welcomed from January 7 to January 10. The CES event appears to become more important every year. It is the first major world event where more than 2,200 CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) members are able to display their involvement in relation to development, manufacturing, distribution and integration of consumer electronic products such as audio, photo, video, mobile communication, and accessories. The CES 2010 starts off a brand-new year, offering a peek of what we can expect in the upcoming season regarding new products and services.
