Sony high definition camcorders

As the leader in the high-definition camcorder category, Sony is further expanding the industry with the introduction of six new HD models. The HDR-SR12, HDR-SR11 and HDR-SR10 hard drive camcorders, along with the HDR-UX20 and HDR-UX10 DVD models, are all based on AVCHD technology and feature full 1920 x 1080 high-definition recording for outstanding clarity and detail. They deliver the highest HD resolution available without sacrificing recording times. All of them feature a new high-profile encoding system to optimize encoding efficiency. And, because they are based on the industry-standard MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video codec, they are entering the market compatible with many third-party editing suites.

JVC D850 camcorder

JVC launches a miniDV camcorder with 35x optical zoom in a new compact design. The compact design of the new JVC GR-D850 belies a rich set of powerful features, such as a Konica Minolta lens with 35x optical zoom and a 2.7-inch 16:9 widescreen LCD monitor with automatic backlight control for easy viewing, even on a bright, sunny day. For low-light shooting there is also the built-in Auto Illumi-Light LED. The JVC D850 comes with an array of features to enhance ease-of-use and ensure top quality footage. The Stick Control on the LCD makes navigating menus and settings a one-finger operation, while the Data Battery lets the user know how much recording time remains. The JVC GR-D850 will be available in January at $229.95.

For low-light shooting there is also the built-in Auto Illumi-Light LED. The JVC D870 provides a new level of versatility with Dual Recording and Live Slow features. With Dual Recording, users don’t have to choose between shooting still images or video: still pictures can be taken while shooting video. The JVC GR-D870 will be available in January and is priced at $249.95.

The new JVC GZ-MG330, unveiled at the CES 2008 event in Las Vegas, also offers new functions that make operation simpler and more intuitive, and available in various colors. New is Laser Touch, a touch-sensitive scroll bar that simplifies operation and a new design that’s some 20 percent smaller than last year’s entry-level model. The Laser Touch Operation user interface is a touch-sensitive illuminated scroll bar just to the left of the LCD monitor screen. The new JVC MG330 Hard Disk camcorder is available in January 2008 at a price of $449.99.
