Kodak introduces the new Kodak Playsport video camera, a rugged, durable and pocket-size HD video camera with an appetite for adventure. The Kodak Playsport video camera is specifically designed for consumers with active lifestyles, allowing them to capture full 1080p HD video - even underwater - with the touch of a button. The Kodak Playsport video camera is waterproof up to 10 feet and features built-in software and USB cable output so users can edit and easily share with family and friends through sites such as YouTube and Facebook. The Kodak Playsport also features electronic image stabilization and Kodak Imaging Science for sharper videos with vibrant colors and less blur.

Canon USA announces an exciting new line of five VIXIA high definition and six standard definition camcorders, which are available in a variety of different recording formats, including Flash Memory. The camcorders retain Canon’s core imaging technologies, but add a wide selection of new features for enhanced image quality and added flexibility for sharing and storing memories. “Canon’s latest camcorder lineup features an exciting new array of advanced technologies that deliver superb image quality and easy operation,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Imaging Group, Canon USA. “These new camcorders are available in a variety of recording formats, providing consumers a camcorder choice that complements any lifestyle or situation.”

Panasonic SW20 and S7 camcorders

Panasonic, a leader in High Definition and digital video tech-nologies, announces two new SD Card camcorders, the waterproof Panasonic SW20 and the compact and ultra-mobile S7. Viewings and demos, including one that submerges the Panasonic SW20 into water, will take place at the 2008 International CES in Las Vegas from January 7-10 at the Panasonic booth #9405. “In the past, camcorders were most often used to record special events, such as weddings and vacations.
