Lexar, a leader in advanced digital media and accessories, announced that it has increased the capacity of its SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) format memory cards in all three of the company’s popular product lines including Professional, Platinum II, and standard. Available later this month, the new 8GB cards provide consumers and professionals with the ultimate in functionality and performance, and are designed for SDHC-compatible devices such as digital cameras, PDAs, and mobile phones, to name only a few of the many popular SDHC-compatible product categories.
SanDisk Video HD cards

Consumers who own camcorders that use flash memory cards instead of tape will now be able to select the right storage media for their cameras with the debut of a video card line from SanDisk Corporation. As the first of a new category of storage media, SanDisk Video HD cards will be available in SDHC (high-capacity) and Memory Stick PRO Duo formats, and will be identified by minutes of recording time as well as by capacity. SanDisk unveiled the high performance video card product family during a press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show, where the company is exhibiting at Booth 30768 in South Hall 3 of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Panasonic, a leader in High Definition technology, announced the development of the world’s first 32 Gigabyte (GB) SD High Capacity (SDHC) Memory Card with Class 6 speed specification, perfect for recording High Definition video. Sony Europe’s Recording Media & Energy (RME) division announced the expansion of its high-definition recording options with the introduction of 16GB Memory Stick PRO Duo media. The Sony Memory Stick PRO Duo large-capacity flash storage device is ideal for Sony’s new Handycam camcorders based on AVCHD technology as well as the latest high-resolution Sony cameras (Cyber-shot & Alpha digital SLR cameras). Users can store up to 110 minutes of high-definition video recorded in 1920 mode, almost 6 hours of HD video when shooting in 1440 LP mode, and more than 4000 still pictures in 10 Megapixel resolution. The Sony 16GB Memory Stick PRO Duo media will be available in March 2008.
