Samsung Electronics America extended its family of full-HD digital camcorders with four new models - the HMX-H106, HMX-H105, HMX-H104, and HMX-H100. Samsung’s new H-Series offer users high-performance, full HD video, a renowned Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan HD lens with Optical Image Stabilization, and industry leading design; however, most notable is the use of internal Solid State Drives to provide onboard memory. The Samsung HMX-H106 is Samsung’s new flagship full-HD digital camcorder, the world’s first to feature an internal 64GB Solid State Drive (SSD). Samsung’s renowned SSD technology offers a substantial advantage over the use of Hard Disk Drives (HDD) in a digital camcorder.

Samsung Omnia smartphone review

The Samsung Omnia smartphone works on the operating system of Windows Mobile. To be precise; the Windows Mobile version 6.1. Windows Mobile operating system has its pros and cons. Starting up time takes a lot longer than an average cell phone, the menu is slower and working with the stylus pen is often better than working with your fingers. There certainly are pros too; synchronization is simple, installing external software is easy and many file formats are standard supported thanks to the availability of various Microsoft programs.

New processor for digital photo frames

Samsung announced a new series of media processors designed specifically for the digital photo frame (DPF) market. The Samsung S5L2010 series of cost-effective, high-performance processors enable DPF developers to offer compelling next-generation multimedia functionality to optimize the photo and video viewing experience. Samsung’s new S5L2010 media processors will be on display at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show in meeting room #N238 on the second floor of the North Hall in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a worldwide leader in digital consumer electronics and information technology, announced its Spinpoint N2 160 gigabyte (GB) is shipping. Featuring a fast speed of 4200rpm in a 1.8" form factor, which is the size of a business card, Samsung's N2 160GB drive ushers in a new era of high performance storage for PDAs, MP3 players, camcorders, digital cameras and game consoles. According to market research firm IDC, 1.8" hard disk drives are expected to grow from 3.8 million units in 2007 to 22.1 million units in 2011 at a compound annual growth rate of 55 percent.

Samsung L100 digital camera

Samsung introduces a new model to its compact and stylish L-Series. The new 8 Megapixel L100 joins the popular lineup and combine a number of features commonly found on higher-priced, more advanced models. The Samsung L100 features a high-quality, 3x optical zoom Samsung NV lens and pack a large, 2.5" LCD screen which will automatically brighten or dim depending on the current lighting situation. For reviewing and sharing images with others, the Samsung L100 also includes an intuitive Multi-Slide Show. With Mutli-Slide Show, end-users can playback their images using five different slide transitions and can also have their images set to scroll to the cameras’ preloaded music or their own favorite MP3 files.

Samsung announced the i8, an eight Megapixel, ultra-thin, ultra-stylish digital camera supporting Samsung’s PMP multimedia technology. PMP, which has become the defining feature of Samsung’s popular i-Series, gives users the ability to enjoy movies, videos and their favorite music while on-the-go. The Samsung i8 boasts a redesigned body, sporting a glossy and reflective finish, and measures in at a pocket-sized 3.5" x 2.3" x 0.8". At the heart of the camera lies a high-performance, eight mega-pixel sensor that produces ultra-clear and sharp images. The Samsung i8 also features a non-protruding, 3x optical zoom, enabling shooters to get close to their subjects without compromising their low profiles.

The annual CES show in Las Vegas (United States) opens its doors again from the 8th of January until the 11th of January 2009. The International CES is produced by CEA, the Consumer Electronics Association, the preeminent trade association promoting growth in the consumer technology industry. CEA represents more than 2,200 corporate members involved in the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and integration of consumer electronics products such as audio, photo, video and mobile electronics as well as communication, information technology, networks, multimedia and accessories. The CES 2009 exhibition will show the consumer what to expect in the field of new digital electronics in the next season.
