Xias will provide consumers a new option to acquire and enjoy global multimedia content. The company will be demonstrating its player and XiasLive online library of purchasable audio content at CES January 7-10, 2008, in the Central Hall, booth 15023. The distinctive Xias MP3 players with video capability will be available for purchase in Q1 2008. “Xias products combine the convergence of content and consumer electronic devices with the retailer’s need to reach new markets and generate additional revenue streams,” commented Rick Stans, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Norcent Technology, Inc., an authorized licensee of Xias products.

Casio super slim projectors

Casio announced the release of two new ultra-bright models in the Super Slim Projector series. The new XJ-S31 and XJ-S36 feature a brightness of 2,000 ANSI lumens in a very slim piece of equipment with a height of just 1.69” (1.26” at the thinnest point). The new projectors will be on display at Casio’s Booth # 9808. The XJ-S31 and XJ-S36 enhance the Super Slim Data Projector family that includes the XJ-S41 and XJ-S46, which feature a brightness of 2,500 ANSI lumens. The Superslim line is known for its compact size and portability. This series of projectors has won rave reviews from both businesses and schools, and are used for a broad range of applications.

SanDisk Sansa View and Sansa Clip

SanDisk Corporation, the second largest seller of MP3 players in the United States, announced capacity increases for two of its most popular flash-based digital media players: the tiny Sansa Clip moves to a top capacity of 4 gigabytes (GB) from 2 GB, while the powerful Sansa View jumps to 32 GB from a previous top capacity of 16 GB. The new capacities were announced during a press conference at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show, where SanDisk is demonstrating products at Booth 30768, South Hall 3, in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Pinnacle USB video recorder

Pinnacle Systems, Inc., the consumer division of Avid Technology, Inc., announced Pinnacle Video Transfer, an innovative device that records analog video onto any USB 2.0 storage device without using a PC. At the touch of a button, users with little or no technical expertise can immediately begin recording from a TV, DVD player, PVR, camcorder or set-top box directly to their Apple iPod Video, iPod nano (3rd generation), iPod classic, Sony PSP, Sony PSP slim, USB flash drive or USB hard drive. For each connected device, the user can select three different recording levels, depending on their preference for video quality or the actual size of the video files.

Wireless IP camera from CNet

CNet Technology, a Silicon Valley net-working and communi-cations company established in 1987, announced the release of its third IP camera, the CIC-920W. Similar to its other cameras, the CIC-920W wireless camera offers many features, including 640x480 image resolution, motion detection, alarm notification, and WPA wireless security. “The surveillance camera market is shifting from closed-circuit TV to IP cameras. In addition, the industry is migrating from motion JPEG to MPEG-4. We’re happy to say that the CNet CIC-920W comes with a MPEG-4 video compression feature that provides high-resolution images with less storage and bandwidth constraints,” said Bryan Chan, EVP of CNet.
