Garmin nuvi 880 navigation

Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd., announced the new Garmin nuvi 880, a premium portable navigation device with cutting-edge speech recognition, dynamic MSN Direct content, and an impressive array of other convenience and safety features. The devicewas announced in conjunction with the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and will be on display at the Garmin booth (South Hall 4, booth #35832). “Garmin’s nuvi 880 uses speech recognition to make navigation safer and easier than ever. Now it’s possible to keep both hands on the wheel, tell nuvi what to do and where to go, and you’re on your way to stress-free travel,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s worldwide vice president of sales.

Garmin nuvi 260W navigation

Garmin International, Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd., announced the nuvi 260W, a simple-to-use widescreen personal navigation device (PND) that speaks street names. The devicewas announced in conjunction with the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and will be on display at the Garmin booth. In addition to features offered by other members of the Garmin nuvi 200 family, the nuvi 260W automatically calls out street names (saying “turn right on Main Street” instead of “turn right in 200 feet.”). This feature lets drivers keep their eyes on the road while navigating through busy traffic and tricky roadways. The Garmin nuvi 260W also sports a sunlight-readable 4.3-inch touchscreen display.

Garmin Mobile PC

Garmin Mobile PC was announced in conjunction with the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and will be on display at the Garmin booth(#35832, South Hall 4). “Garmin Mobile PC gives travelers an easy and inexpensive way to get more from a device they already own - their laptop,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales. “Plus, it offers many of the same real-time features found on high-end portable GPS devices like weather and fuel price information.”

Garmin Forerunner 405 fitness device

Goodyear GPS navigation system

Goodyear, the most trusted name in tires for over a century, has entered into a trademark license agreement with The NCC. The NCC will be launching its first line of Goodyear branded, driver-focused GPS navigation systems at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 7-10. The eight Goodyear GPS models will have features never seen before on a mobile navigation system, including a remote control to access hands-free communication, with a single quick-touch button to answer and hang up incoming calls.

GPS Locators for Vehicles and Pets

Zoombak, a Liberty Media company, announced that it launched its first Zoombak advanced GPS locator and related services for pets and vehicles. The Zoombak GPS locator is now available for purchase online throughout the Zoombak website, and at major national retailers in early 2008. The Zoombak GPS locator is one of the first Assisted-GPS (“A-GPS”) devices designed specifically for use by everyday consumers and will be sold nationwide at leading electronics and specialty pet retailers.
